1.) Like a ring stacker, but so much better!

My son has a couple of basic ring stackers, but this cone sorter by Plan Toys, while using the same concept, draws his attention and holds it for much longer than his basic ones. The interior tubes must be assembled by size before the outer rings can be added. At 12 months, my son definitely needs help in putting it together, but he is absolutely fascinated by the way the tubes slide into one another, as well as the way the outer rings hide the tubes. This toy will be excellent for teaching colors, size differences, and spatial relationships. And when we don't want to take it that seriously, the tubes are great for rolling on hardwood floors. This cone stacker provides a unique challenge that no other toy we've found offers!
**Now at age 3, my son still enjoys playing with this. It's a toy that I rotate in and out of his collection, so that it seems "new."
2.) The best stacking toy I've ever seen!

We bought this toy for our now 25-month old son when he was 10 months old and he still plays with it! It is very versatile, durable, and fun. It can be stacked in multiple ways and inspires creativity and exploration in such a fun way. My son't set of blocks has been thrown, bitten. dropped, run over with multiple large toy vehicles, and just generally abused for 15 months and yet it looks like new. Plan toys make fantastic toys, and this one is no exception.
3.) Best Toy We Own

I was looking to buy my son a typical ring stacker but saw this in my searching and got it instead. I'm so glad we did because it's the best toy we own. I bought it when my son was 12 months old and it's been his favorite toy for the last 3 months. I thought it would be too advanced for him but he figured it out right away. And then he started trying to put it together in different ways. He is fascinated by trying to put the pieces on in different orders or seeing if he can put them on upside down. Because there are so many more ways to put the pieces together (some that work and some that don't) he has a great time exploring. He also uses some of the individual pieces in different ways like using the green tube as a telescope. The toy itself is very attractive looking and very sturdy. It's solid wood but the pieces aren't too heavy for a young child to manipulate. The pieces are stained and not painted so I don't worry about my son chewing on any of the pieces. I can't say enough good things about this toy. It's simple but wonderful.

This is a fantastic sorting toy. My 10 month old loves this--and has for several months. It's his favorite go-to toy. There are so many great pieces, and he's already learning how to stack different ones together. He loves to haul around all of the different pieces and put them on other toys. It's great that I don't have to worry about him putting all of these in his mouth, as they are made with non-toxic dyes. I keep finding different ways to assemble all the pieces. Get this for your baby/young toddler--you won't be sorry!
5.) Great wooden toy for many ages

We received this toy when my first child was only 18 mo, and I had a newborn at home as well. Two + years later this toy is still played with every day by both my almost 4 yr old and my [...]. They learned colors, spatial realations, and these work really well with a set of wooden blocks too. I would highly recommend this toy for many years of play!!
6.) If only we had given it to her sooner!

I bought this toy during a sale months ago but followed the box and held off on giving it to our daughter until she turned two. Now that she is playing with it I am regretting not giving it to her at least ten months ago. I would not hesitate to give this toy to a one year old. Our daughter had it figured out in a day but continues to creatively play with it. Sometimes she makes a mistake but she problem solves and fixes it. And this is such an elegant looking toy as well. I actually love looking at it!
My inlaws gave us a traditional plastic set of stacking colored rings which she got about a week before I remembered that I had this in our closet. She showed very little interest in that and wouldn't learn from her mistakes like she does from the much more complex Plan version. I noticed that Plan offers a more traditional ring stacker, I would take this over that any day!
We have a number of Plan toys but so far this is our favorite. I expect my daughter to be enjoying this for a long time.
7.) Cool Idea; Fantastic Toy

We bought this for our almost-2-year-old for Christmas. I find the around-two age to be the most difficult to shop for as children this age are intellectually ready for more complex intellectually-stimulating toys, but still feel the need to explore things with their mouths, which really limits the things you can buy to being below their skill level, at their skill level and a choking hazard, or bright and flashy with lots of lights (yuck).
So, enter this stacker, a perfect complex little twist on the original stacker concept, requiring a little more thought and dexterity, and with the added interest of multiple layers. It can actually be assembled in a different order each time, so there are a few methods to getting it all put together. The pieces are a good size, and the Plan Toys water-based dyes won't come off if a toddler feels the need to taste it.
Hopefully it will be a big hit Christmas morning. If not, I'll probably get a good bit of play out of it myself. I think it's a wonderful little puzzle.

I love this toy and so does my 12 month old son! I love building it for him and he loves pulling out all of the blocks. There are so many things to do with it. If your child is not ready to play with it, you can just put it out on your coffee tble and there are sure to be many adults who are interested. It is difficult to tell from the picture, but it has an outer ring built out of rings that set around an inner core of cocentric cylinders. He also loves carrying them around the house. My son especially likes the inner core cylinders and tries to bang them together and place them inside eachother. It'll be awhile before he can put it together himself, but there are so many ways to play with it that he won't tire of it before then. If it reminds me of anything, it reminds me of the Widget, but it is so much better.

This sorter toy is lovely.
Its well made, has beautiful colors, and the overall quality is wonderful.
This was one of our first plan toy purchases, and we'll definitely be buying more.
I purchased this for my son's first birthday.
Its definitely something he'll have to grow into. I would say the age recommendation of 24 months is pretty accurate, as the sorter has tubular pieces that fit inside the cylindrical cone pieces. Altogether there are 9 pieces that have to fit together. The nice thing is that there are endless ways to stack the pieces, so little ones can really use their imagination and creativity. For now, I'm the one having fun w/this toy until my little guy gets a little older.

My son LOVES this toy! He's been playing with it since he was about 8 months old. He is now 13 months old and still loves playing with it. The bright colors are great. It's really three toys in one. First, you can stack and nest all the pieces together. Second, you can stack just the cones. Third, you have a nesting game with just the inner cylinder pieces. Very versatile! Plus, this toy is very durable. It's been banged against the brick fireplace numerous times and still is in great shape!

our 16 month old boy loves this toy. we showed it to him when he was 12 months when he got it for his birthday but he wasn't really intersted back then. now, he loves to put it together and gets such a great sense of satisfaction in seeing it come together. i wish we could find more toys like this that encourage spatial thinking and creativity in toddlers.

We bought this for our daughters 1st b.day and were amazed to see how easily she played with this toy. First learnt to put smaller tubes inside larger ones, and can stack the smaller tops. Enjoys walking around with green inner tube in her hand and we love the fact that is is so versatile, we can create new "looks" for her to find each morning. Colors are great, environmentally friendly. Love this company and their concepts.
