I bought this for my niece's 3rd birthday and she was so happy with it. My sister tells me she plays with it everyday and has learned so much from it. I bought her the one that says a for ant and b for bee this one on amazon has different words for the letter but it's still the same toy. So glad I made my niece happy.

This is a great tool for helping kids learn while playing and having fun. Good way to start them off learning letters, sounds. Not sure about writing...haven't gotten that far.

i found this book on sale at wal mart $10. my 1yr old loves it he doesnt understand the letter part of the book but we use it as a bedtime story. i like to buy toys that he can grow with. my little man likes to turn the pages all by himself

My grandson loves the Vtech books. The pages are easy to turn and he likes the interactive buttons. I purchased this one not realizing it was recommended for 3 and up. It has a button for each letter and you can switch between saying the letter, the sound of the letter, and a word that starts with the letter. It will also read the story on each page. While I think he would enjoy pushing the buttons at 18 months, I am going to wait to give it to him when he is showing an interest in learning his letters. I want it to be fresh and new to him at that time. Meanwhile, he can enjoy the other Vtech books I have purchased for him.

This was my grandaughter's favorite birthday gift. She has spent many hours with it already. Her parents loved it too, which is always important.

7.) Fun toy for 3+ years.

My daughter is only 2 years of age. She received this toy as a birthday gift. She loves pushing buttons so she loves this toy. I wouldn't recommend this as an "educational" toy. The mechanical voice isn't clear enough for her to understand what's being said, but she does enjoy the fact that it makes noise in response to pushing a button!Vtech - Write & Learn Letter Book

I purchased this toy for my grandson. He is developmentally delayed. A friend of his had a similar toy and he took to it right away. He has delighted in having his own learning book and is trying to sing his abc's.
This product has been wonderful for him. I highly recommend it.

9.) Not what I expected

I bought this for my four year old grandson, to help with letter formation. As your finger starts to follow and trace the letter, the voice goes back to the beginning and never gets to the ending steps. Also, it jumps around from one activity to another as you turn pages. Seems like there should be a separate "story" button. I had to send the first one I ordered back because the volume was too low and could not be turned up. The volume is o.k. on this one, but I wonder if the wiring is off in other areas. It's just not what I was expecting, as other Vtech items I have purchased were quite good.
